The Bogotá Chamber of Commerce congratulates the president of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos Calderón, for receiving the 2016 Nobel Peace Prize, which was delivered in Oslo, Norway. He is the sixth latin american to be honored with this award.
For Mónica de Greiff, executive president of the BCC, "this is a recognition for all colombians and especially for the victims of the armed conflict; the Nobel Prize reaffirms international support for Colombia’s will for peace and the work that president Santos has done to achieve consensus to end the war through dialogue and negotiation".
Mónica de Greiff celebrated the participation of Laureate president Santos at the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates, Bogotá 2017.
The Summit, postulated by the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, will be a unique and opportune scenario to talk about the immense challenges humanity faces in building peace, learn about international experiences and share with the world lessons from the case of Colombia.
The World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates will take place in Latin America for the first time since its creation in 1999 and this year will be attended by at least 23 laureates.
